BEAULIEU BLADES 4-1 READING GIRLS
Reading were knocked out of the cup by Beaulieu, after a below par performance.
Reading got off to the worst possible start conceding in the first minute. Things didn’t get much better in the first 20 minutes, with Reading conceding 2 further goals, as Beaulieu dominated the early stages of this match.
Reading only occasionally got their passing game together. The best spell being the last 15 minutes of the first half, that saw the girls pull a goal back. Tiffany Brunton’s cross from the right, was cleared to the edge of the penalty area, where HANNAH Sheehan hit an excellent right foot shot into the top corner.
The second half was very uneventful and pretty scrappy. Beaulieu pinned Reading backed for long periods, with Sian Wylie and Charlotte Muzeen standing firm at the heart of the Reading defence, as Beaulieu applied the pressure. Reading were struggling to cope with the physical presence of the Beaulieu midfield and eventually the fourth goal arrived. A long free kick was not cleared and finished well for a 4-1 final score.
