GUILDFORD SAINTS 0-10 READING GIRLS
The girls finally got another game in - their 9th in 6th months, and finished comprehensive winners 10-0 against a plucky Guildford outfit.
The early exchanges were very even, as Guildford started the game very well and pushed forward in search of the opening goal. It took Reading 15 minutes to open the scoring through TIFF Brunton. This settled the game down a bit and SOPHIE Pearce drove in number 2 shortly after. MILLIE Bilciff placed the ball past the keeper for the 3rd and on half-time OLIVIA Gardiner drove home the 4th goal.
Reading played a lot better in the second half and started to move the ball around quicker. TIFF helped herself to a second goal, before MEL Saunders found the net for the 6th. MILLIE then scored her second goal to make it 7-0 and TIFF’s well struck shot, netted her a very well taken hat-trick.
In the final 10 minutes HANNAH Sheehan forced home the loose ball for the 9th goal and MEL rounded the scoring off with an emphatic drive into the top corner.
Muppet of the match went to MARK Gardiner, who when we were going through the scorers, questioned that his daughter had scored. In fact not only had Olivia scored the 4th goal, but if you missed it Mark, it was a well struck left foot shot into the corner of the net, a couple of minutes before half time.
