Reading Girls Jets eased their way in to the Semi Finals of the County Cup with a great all round performance. Although Penn & Tylers looked solid and had some good players across the pitch they found that they could do little to stop a rampant Reading side.

Reading Jets were certainly up for this and Sarah Thompson gave them the lead inside 5 minutes but P&T rallied and defended well whilst still giving Reading a few problems. Reading Jets had large amounts of possession and carved out some great chances but the P&T keeper saved well on many occasions.
Reading then hit a purple patch and hit 3 goals 7 minute spell to give them a commanding lead of 4 - 0 at half time. Jade Hearmon got the first with a nice slotted finish, Megan Herbert then struck the ball low and hard to beat the keeper making it 3 - 0 and Tara Magee finished of the half with a well taken goal just before the break.

Reading Jets did not let up in the second half and had the fifth in the first minute of the restart. Sarah Thompson took the ball on and went on a powerful run and finished really well to make it 5 - 0 and putting the game beyond Penn & Tylers, however they battled the entire time and never gave up.

Ali Cartwright hit a nice goal when she finished off a good run down the left by thumping the ball over the keeper into the net making it 6 - 0. She they got her second and Readings seventh driving the ball low and hard past the keeper from just outside the penalty area. Megan Herbert then finished off the scoring for Reading Jets with 5 minutes left after she was put through on goal by Miranda Lane and making it 8 - 0.

Tara Magee was picked out as MOM by the opposition and a huge well done to all the girls this week. April looked strong and Hannah, Zara, Sophie G and Anna looked solid at the back and Sophie F was a constant threat down the right with Tara. Emma and Sarah put in great performances, whilst Megan, Alice and Jade had the P&T defence on the back foot for most of the game. Well done to Vicky in goal, she had a stinking cold but still put in a great shift.
