Reading Girls Jets had three missing for this game but as it turned out, this proved to be the game of the season so far. A great cup tie, physical and committed from both sides and great football played by all the girls.
Reading Jets settled in to their game from the start this week but again lacked the final touch to covert prolonged pressure in to goals. The first half saw Reading Jets keep the ball for long periods but Maidenhead Blue Sox always looked for the counter attack and relied on Ruth Dow to provide the chances. Reading created plenty of their own but somehow the game was 0 - 0 at half time.

The second half saw Reading press but it was Maidenhead that did the damage with a well taken goal on the counter. Reading Jets replied within minutes, when Sophie Farrell put in a great corner kick that was headed on by Sarah Thompson at the near post and it was Tara Magee that headed the ball home at the far post to level the score.
Jets played some quality football this week and will hopefully carry that forward to the County Cup, Quarter Finals next week.
Well done to both side for some really good, strong and competitive football this week.
