The captain for the day was April.

Gosport start brightly for the attack to be stopped by Jae. Good work by Eloise to set up Leanne for first shot and the keeper saves. On the attack again Livvie plays in Clara who shoots straight at the keeper. The shots need to be placed to force the keeper to make a save. Leanne and Livvie combine to set up Clara but the shot is scuffed wide. April and Leanne defend well to break up a Gosport attack. Ball comes into box and hits Jae and Morgan picks up. Referee blows for a back pass, unbelievable decision. Gosport miss and ball is cleared.

Leah clears ball to Clara who passes to Livvie. Livvie skilfully beats two players and crosses to Eloise who shoots over. Eloise clearance finds Livvie who again finds Clara who shoots at the keeper to save. April passes to Leanne who goes on a run and shoots straight at the keeper. April having a good tussle with Gosport forward but not giving her anything. Jae sweeps nicely to save a corner and put the ball out for a throw in. Jemma tackles to win a throw in. Jae clearance finds Clara who shoots wide. Morgan saves to Give Gosport first corner. Jemma crosses and keeper comes out to collect. Nicole, Hannah and Sophie come on in place of Jemma, Clara and Livvie.

Great run by Leanne on the right wing who crosses to Nicole but connection not quite there. Gosport wins the ball from a goal kick and shoots low to score. Gosport 1-0

Great tracking from Leanne to break up attack. Gosport attack again and the cross is met with another goal. Gosport 2-0

Reading start with a purpose and Nicole makes a run straight for goal. After beating one player the shot is saved for a corner. Leanne pass finds Nicole who cuts inside and shoots to score. Gosport 2 Reading 1.  

April tackle gives Gosport a corner. Morgan saves at the near post. Jemma has a shot saved by the keeper. Leanne cross finds Clara and shot is saved.  Livvie pass finds Clara who knocks ball to Nicole and with a turn shoots low to score. Gosport 2 Reading 2.

Great block and tackle from April. Morgan spills ball but has a second chance to smother the ball in the box.  Another block and tackle but this time from Jae. Hannah retrieves ball and passes down the wing. Gosport forward shoots low to score. Gosport 3 Reading 2.

Sophie works hard to support Nicole up front. Nicole pressure wins a corner. Leanne goes into a 50/50 tackle and comes off worse with an injury.  Livvie replaces Leanne. Gosport expose gaps in defence by forward breaking through and scoring. Gosport 4 Reading 2.

This was a hard fought game with Reading not capitalising on plenty of early chances. Overall a good performance by the girls against a strong Gosport team.

Player of the match goes to the captain April. In defence April was solid against a very quick forward line. Good tackling and passing out of danger to change defence into attack.
