The captain for the day was Morgan.
Winchester started the game brightly with some good football. Reading are a yard off the pace after a six-week break. Clara has the first strike that is cleared for a corner by the defender. Winchester win the ball back and play the ball inside April. The forward shoots and scores past Morgan. Winchester 1-0.

Winchester break away and Morgan comes out to retrieve the ball. Leah clears a dangerous cross and plays the ball to April who combined with Jemma. Clara picks up the loose ball and passes to Nicole and defender makes a great tackle. Jae at the other end makes a strong tackle to deny Winchester an extended lead. Another clearance from Jae puts in Nicole who shoots and defender blocks for a corner. Clara passes to Nicole who wins a throw in. Clara and Leanne combine to play in Nicole who shoots wide. A Winchester goal kick is won by Clara who passes to Leanne on the wing. Leanne passes to Nicole who shoots low to equalise. Winchester 1 Reading 1.

Morgan collects the ball from the edge of the box; the clearance goes to a Winchester player who shoots to score. Winchester 2 Reading 1.  

Leah clears the ball for a throw in. Nicole makes a great run to beat 3 players and shoots wide. Sophie comes on for Jemma, Helen for Leah and Hannah for Clara. Helen wins a throw in and ball is intercepted and Jae makes a great tackle. A long kick by Leanne finds Nicole who shoots just wide.    

Half time: Winchester 2 Reading 1
Jae has first effort at goal and the keeper saves. April now in goal comes out to collect the ball on the edge of the box. Jae plays a long ball and finds Nicole who twists and turns and the shot is cleared for a throw in. Jemma passes to Nicole who plays a weighted pass to Helen. As the ball comes across Helen she directs the ball into the corner of the net. Winchester 2 Reading 2. 

Through ball from Leanne to Nicole who wins a throw in. Sophie tackle breaks up an attack and ball runs onto April to tidy up. Goal kick from April finds Nicole who wins a corner. Winchester break and Leah stops attack with a very strong tackle. Jemma throw in finds Nicole who hits the side netting. Sophie and Jae combine to break up attack from Winchester. Leah contributes again with a tackle and lays off the ball to Leanne. Nicole in a wide area crosses and ball is cleared. Leanne chases attack and clears the danger. Livvie comes on for Jemma.

Clara cross ends in a ball scramble. Reading putting on the pressure, Helen plays in Nicole who beats two players and the ball breaks to Clara who taps the ball in to give reading the lead for the first time. Winchester 2 Reading 3.

Morgan on for Helen and Hannah on for Sophie. Morgan wins a throw in and finds Nicole who shoots. Keeper saves for a corner. Hannah pass to Livvie and links up with Nicole who shoots over the crossbar. Good strong finish by Reading.

Player of the match goes to Leah. The tackles that were executed today from Leah made us all wince on the sideline. The timing was perfect and demonstrates how Leah is developing as a solid defender. Well done.
